Video Shooting Techniques

Today Luz will be coming in to pass on her wealth of experience in the video shooting field.
Luz is a broadcast journalist from Chile.......
Later.......
We have had a very successful video day. Before we launched off into the realm of filmmaking etc Luz took us through some fundamentals like the camera can only capture a part of what we see, the human desire to capture what we do see and how to plan well to capture the story we are trying to tell or moment we want to convey.
If you came into the programme today you would have been captured by the buzz and energy of all the creativity at work....it is a truly energising experience. Some were off planning shots, some were videoing with Luz, some were doing action shots, with Spencer, using a special camera attached to a bike helmet.
I really wish I could show you the results right here and now, but the thing about videoing is the editing stage is labour intensive. So I'll leave you with another movie trailer by the young girls yesterday. Funnily I found it quite poignant, the shots they chose and music etc....(Will post all video as we get through the editing)

We plan and prepare a schedule but the actual programme evolves with the personality of the children coming and the friendships that develop. So our programme ends up being better than what's "on paper". Most of our children are children who return each holidays. If Nelson were first to get the fastest internet speed in the Southern Hemisphere then it will bring great profile and economic development to our region.Yikes wants to take part to support our community. Tour Guide Training

Today we are learning in our Computer Session how to be a good tour guide. We have learnt that: A good guide is sensitive to the needs of others. A good guide is well organized. A good guide has knowledge of the local area. So we are learning to use Google search to gather information. This site offers some good tips about using search: http://cihnelsonlessons.blogspot.co.nz/search/label/Google Also did you know you can use google search as a calculator or a dictionary? It's pretty cool. Is this tour guide being sensitive to the needs of his group?
